This project supports security operations, regional connectivity, and humanitarian access to remote areas of northern Kenya.

Xtreme Engineering’s mandate at Masalani Airport centers on heavy civil works and specialized airfield systems integration designed to meet ICAO Annex 14 safety standards. Given its strategic location, the project is engineered to support both high-frequency security sorties and heavy-lift humanitarian aircraft bringing aid to the Tana River and Garissa regions.

The technical core of the project involves the comprehensive rehabilitation of the runway and taxiway infrastructure, incorporating advanced pavement engineering to withstand the extreme thermal cycles of northern Kenya. A standout feature of Xtreme's delivery is the Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) infrastructure, which includes the precision design of electrical duct networks and primary/secondary circuit layouts. This allows for the future-proofing of nighttime operations—a vital capability for emergency medical evacuations (MEDEVAC) and rapid-response security missions that were previously restricted to daylight hours.
