Nyaru - Kamwasor Road Construction

The upgrading of the Nyaru – Kamwasor (B124) Road stood as one of the most topographically difficult civil works in the North Rift region.

Project Description

The project was designed to upgrade 22 kilometers of the Keiyo escarpment to bitumen standards. Because of the "hanging valley" terrain, construction required massive rock excavation and earthworks to widen the roadbed. To prevent landslides and erosion, the engineering team installed an extensive drainage network, including over 41,000 meters of concrete side drains and 900 meters of culverts. This road transformed the agricultural supply chain by linking high-altitude farmers to the Eldoret market.
